Peer Reflection #1

1. Who wrote the story?
The story was written by Faith in 5th period journalism.

2. What is their story about?
Their story is about printing things from school.

3. What is their direct opinion about that topic? Please quote it directly from the story or do a really good job of paraphrasing.
Their direct opinion is that everyone should be able to print for free at school. "I believe that everybody at Bowie should have the privilege to print things for free at school. It's not really fair that the freshmen get to print things for free while the upperclassmen have to remember to bring money. Everybody should have the same opportunity to print their assignments out."

4. Did they address what the other side might think about their topic?
They did dress that the school may not approve of the idea since printing costs money.

5. Were they wishy-washy with their opinion? By this I mean did they every go back and say well maybe if this were to happen, then their opinion wouldn't be valid. Support your opinion.
They were not wishy washy. When they mentioned the other viewpoints opinion, they came up with reasonable solutions and stood their ground.

6. Are there any quotes in the story?
There are not any quotes.

7. What point of view did they write in (1st, 2nd or 3rd)?
1st & 2nd person

The story was written by Abbie in 5th period journalism.

2. What is their story about?
There story is about the negative side of fast food that consumers should be aware of.

3. What is their direct opinion about that topic? Please quote it directly from the story or do a really good job of paraphrasing.
They think that people would be healthier with their food choices if informed about the ingredients. "Most don't know the affects of fast food on our bodies, but maybe if more people did, society would have a much more healthy lifestyle...Hopefully with us taking a stand, other fast food places might start changing for the better too."

4. Did they address what the other side might think about their topic?
They did a little bit but not in a very clear way.

5. Were they wishy-washy with their opinion? By this I mean did they every go back and say well maybe if this were to happen, then their opinion wouldn't be valid. Support your opinion.
They were not wishy washy, and it was evident they were against fast food and the ingredients in it. They criticized fast food places several times throughout the story.

6. Are there any quotes in the story?
There are not any quotes.

7. What point of view did they write in (1st, 2nd or 3rd)?
3rd person

8. Can you tell if it is an editorial OR just a regular opinions piece? How?
It is an editorial. I can tell because it is all in 3rd person and has the goal of one of the four common types of editorials: to criticize.
